Emily joined CBSSM as a Research Associate in 2018 after a circuitous journey in social science research from academia to industry and back. She has worked with mental health research at the Institute for Social Research, medical education and health disparities at UM Medical School’s Global REACH, and spent more than a decade supporting pharmaceutical quantitative and qualitative survey research. Emily works with Dr. Geoffrey Barnes on projects focused on improving care for patients on anticoagulants by addressing barriers to medication adherence and patient, physician, and hospital staff communication.
Emily has a Bachelor’s in Sociology from University of Michigan and is working toward a career in genetic counseling. In her free time, she is a breast cancer advocate, fosters animals for the Humane Society of Huron Valley, and enjoys photography and being outdoors. She lives in Ann Arbor with her family.
