CBSSM co-director Angela Fagerlin, PhD, was quoted in an LA Times article on the use of tamoxifen and raloxifene by healthy women who are concerned about developing breast cancer. Fagerlin indicated that some subjects in her research weren't convinced that the benefits of taking tamoxifen were real, or that they would realize the benefits.  She noted the mistrust some women voiced about pharmaceutical companies in online comments to an editorial she wrote about the medications.
