JD joined CBSSM in August of 2022 as a Research Specialist working on projects exploring career development, gender issues, and women’s representation in science and academic medicine, as well as projects exploring the ethical, legal, and social implications of health data sharing. His undergraduate degrees spanned disciplines in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, after which he acquired master’s degrees in Linguistics and Psychology. He received his doctorate in Psychology (Cognition and Neural Systems) from the University of Arizona, where he also worked as a Postdoc researching mentoring relationships and programs. His research interests have included work in psycholinguistics and communication, learning and pedagogy, program evaluation, research methodology, developmental psychology, and talent development. Before joining CBSSM, JD most recently worked as a Manager of Assessment and Evaluation for a College of Medicine.
