A new study lead by Michelle Moniz, MD, MSc found that 1/3 of women of reproductive age reported better ability to access birth control and family planning services through the Healthy Michigan Plan compared with before enrollment. This finding suggests that Medicaid expansion is associated with improved access to family planning services, which may enable low-income women to maintain optimal reproductive health. CBSSM-affiliated faculty Susan Goold and Jeffrey Kullgren were co-authors.
