Congratulations to Kayte Spector-Bagdady on her election to the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH) Board of Directors!

CBSSM joined 80+ exhibitors for the 2018 Researchpalooza on August 8th.

Kayte Spector-Bagdady recently served on a Q&A panel for "Three Identical Strangers" at the State Theater. Professor Spector-Bagdady, a research ethicist, and Dr. Larry Perlman, a researcher involved in the original study, discussed the troubling research study at the heart of "Three Identical Strangers."

CBSSM faculty, Andrew Shuman (PI), Susan Goold, Janice Firn, and Reshma Jagsi (Co-Is) recently received a BCBSM Foundation Investigator Initiated Research Grant. Their proposed research aims to examine how hospitals in Michigan currently handle drug shortages, to find and describe best practices, and to propose a resource for real-time communication and collaboration across statewide institutions in order to most effectively provide care when resources are strained.

CBSSM is co-sponsoring 2nd Annual Association of Bioethics Program Directors’ Professional Development Workshop to be held Wednesday, October 17th before the ASBH Annual meeting. The focus will be on the increasing personal awareness of leadership styles and approaches to allow us be more effective and satisfied at work and at home. This workshop substantially subsidized by ABPD and 14 institutional sponsors.
