The Ninth Cambridge Consortium for Bioethics Education was held July 2019 in Paris. CBSSM faculty, Reshma Jagsi, Janice Firn, Andrew Shuman, and Kayte Spector-Bagdady presented on "Strengthening Institutional Ethics Culture and Practice Through a System-Wide Approach to Ethics Pedagogy."

Research Topics: 

Sarah Hawley was selected as the new IHPI Education and Training faculty lead, succeeding Caroline Richardson, M.D., professor of family medicine, who served in the role for more than three years.

Hawley will guide IHPI's Education and Training work group and its wide array of programs for faculty members and students. She will also join the IHPI Leadership Team as an ex officio member in this new role.

Research Topics: 

Scott Roberts has been appointed co-chair of the Michigan Dementia Coalition (MDC). The MDC is a statewide group of more than 120 individuals from approximately 65 organizations that works to identify opportunities to improve quality of life for Michigan residents with dementia and their families.

The MDC has just released a comprehensive Roadmap for Creating a Dementia-Capable Michigan to guide policymaking and advocacy efforts around dementia in Michigan.

Congratulations to CBSSM-affiliated investigators on recent promotions! Lisa Harris is now Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Jeremy Sussman is now Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Sarah Vordenberg is now Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy.
