Geoffrey Barnes has been selected as one of 12 IHPI junior faculty members to serve on the Junior Faculty Advisory Council (JFAC) to advocate for junior faculty professional development programs and activities within IHPI, and to provide perspective and feedback on issues and opportunities identified and brought to the JFAC by the Institute Leadership Team.

Michael Fetters has been named a 2016 Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Social Sciences. He will spend five months in Beijing teaching and leading a joint research project with colleagues at Peking University Health Science Center (PUHSC), U-M's partner school in the Joint Institute for Translational and Clinical Research.

Naomi Laventhal was appointed to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Committee on Bioethics. She also serves as the liason to the Executive Committee of the AAP Section on Bioethics (which is the educational/outreach arm) and edits the “ethics case of the month” listserv for AAP.
