Title: Ethical Issues in Predictive Testing for Alzheimer’s Disease
Abstract: Over 5 million people in the US have Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or a related dementia, and their relatives are increasingly seeking out disease risk information through modalities such as direct-to-consumer genetic testing and amyloid neuroimaging. This session will explore ethical issues involved in the provision and regulation of predictive testing for AD, including a review of empirical research on its benefits and harms.
